Design Process

In order to make sure that you are getting the design you are looking for, we will have a few conversations discuss your needs. A PDF of your design will be required in order to begin the design process.

Step 1: Share your idea.

Pick your base forms, pick your colors, upload your design. Fill out the Custom Order form below. We will be in touch with you to discuss the finer details of your custom pottery.

Step 2: Approve your design.

Proof screen print of your design. You will be sent an image of your design screen print to approve.

Create and ship sample products for final approval.

Proofing and Sample Options

Single Sample. $50. 2 week process.

Create and ship a sample product. We will send you a sample product to approve. This is a good option if you are only ordering 1 base form or are more concerned with final products' quality and color. Once you receive and approve we will start throwing your pottery.

Multiple Samples. $50 + $20 for each additional sample. 2 week process.

If you ordered multiple base forms, you can choose to have only one sample product (see above) or one of each base form made for proofing. Ordering multiple base forms does not add to the sample processing time.

Screen Print Only. $20. 3 days

If you are more flexible about what your final product will look like (i.e. differences in color as shown online vs actual color on your pottery) and/or need a faster turnaround, you can choose to only proof the design screen print. We do not accept refunds for custom orders so make sure you are absolutely positive you are okay with receiving a high quality product that might not look exactly as you envisioned.

Once we agree on the style/look of the design, a one time design fee will be charged to your order. Any subsequent orders using the same design will not be subject to the design fee. We will hold all designs for 1 year after the last order. If you have a lapse in ordering lasting more than I year, a new screen and the design fee will be applied to your next order.

Minimum Orders

If you are new to ordering from Kilned with Kindness, the first order must exceed $500 and be paid in-full upfront. All orders after the initial order must be over $300 and can be either paid in full or paid with a 50% deposit upon order, 50% upon pickup (unless they are shipped orders using Route Insurance, which requires full payment upfront). Orders will not be released/ shipped until the last 50% of payment has been received.

Pricing and Payments

Pricing varies depending on the quantity of items ordered, number of colors used and the complexity of your screen print design.

Once you have completed the design process, we require a 50% down payment to start making your custom pottery, Final payment is due before shipment.

Order Fulfillment

Since your custom pottery is completely handmade without the use of molds, jiggers or machines there is typically a 6 - 9 week turn around including the design process and production time. Kilned with Kindness will email you when your order is shipped or if there are any additional fulfillment delays.

Design process:

With Screen Print Only: 5 days

With Sample products: 3 weeks

Production Time: 4 - 8 weeks.

Delivery Time: 3 - 7 days.

Shipping and Delivery

Our general shipping methods and costs apply for custom orders.

We strongly suggest getting additional insurance through a company like Route. Let us know if you need shipping costs upfront for your additional insurance.

Return Policy

Returns for custom orders are not accepted due to the nature of the orders. There will be communication throughout the process, ensuring that you are happy with the design and the product prior to creating your order. Once the order is in process there is little to no room for altering the order.

Damages

No refunds on damaged custom items. We strongly suggest getting additional insurance through Route. We will make sure creating your replacement items is expedited.
